The First Team got back to equal points at the top of the League with a 4-1 home win over Kalamunda United.
After a lack-lustre first half performance which saw the teams were locked at 1-1, Balla came out much improved for the second half. Jake Cosenza once again was on song and his hat-trick added to Daniel Clarkson’s first half strike to produce a somewhat flattering scoreline for the home side.
Despite losing 0-1 to a resurgent Carramar (who come to Kingfisher on 20th August), Gosnells City remain ahead of BAFC on goal difference. With Floreat and Warnbro 4 points behind things are still tight in the Division 2 promotion race.
In the Ressies, it was again a tale of missed opportunities. Ben Stark poked home from close quarters after a comical air-swing and Anthony Mammoliti added a second to gain a 2-2 draw, leaving the boys stuck in 4th place and still 4 points off top.
With a visit to North Beach due next week, Balla will be looking to gain ground as Gosnells have a tricky tie at East Perth and Floreat travel to Carramar. A couple of home wins there would suit us nicely – provided we get the job done against The Beach.
